Rihanna beating update! Law enforcement told TMZ that Rihanna's injuries were severe, two 'huge contusions' which swelled up on both sides of her forehead and 'a bloody lip and nose.' Chris Brown has been booked on a
felony criminal threats charge.

If the DA files the case, domestic violence charges could be added. According toE! Online, Rihanna made the 911 call to police after Brown 'fled on foot' from the scene following the attack. Two officers from the LAPD Wilshire Division found Rihanna in Brown's rented silver Lamborghini 'beaten really badly and hysterical.'

Brown had taken the keys to the car with him and Rihanna was basically left on the side of the road with the car. 'Rihanna didn't want anyone to touch her, she was in so much pain.' Officers took her to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.

A member of Rihanna's inner circle tells E! News her family is making plans to get her out of LA: 'They want to get her back to Barbados. They want to keep her away from Chris right now.'

Chris Brown was named the 2008 artist of the year by Billboard this week, marking the second time he’s grabbed the title, first doing it in 2006.

In an interview with the AP on Thursday, Brown said, “It’s bigger than what I can ever imagine. It’s unexpected totally, so it’s a surprise.”

The artist of the year is decided by a combination of album sales, digital downloads, and radio play. Number 2 on the list was Lil Wayine, and coming in at three was Chris Browns main squeeze, Rihanna.

Ri and Chris are really takin the music throne, aren't they??
